FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Colorado State's 2017 football season opener is just over three weeks away and fans in attendance will be able to take part in several special promotions to commemorate the first football game in the new on-campus stadium. In addition to Military Appreciation Day, fans can participate in the first Stripe the Stadium promotion at Colorado State by wearing either green or white in designated sections to create green and white vertical stripes throughout the stadium seating bowl.
The game, which kicks off at 12:30 p.m., is the first college football kickoff of the 2017 season, and will be televised to a national audience by CBS Sports Network.
- Fans sitting in odd-numbered sections, plus Section 126 and the entire student section located in the east and south lower level are encouraged to wear green to the game.
- Fans sitting in even-numbered sections—with the exception of Section 126, which will be green—are encouraged to wear white to the game.

Special Under Armour shirts in both green and white will be available for sale at Ram Zone retail locations either at the stadium or in Old Town Fort Collins beginning Saturday Aug. 5. The Ram Zone Stadium Store, located on the northwest side of the building, off Pitkin Street, will have its grand opening Saturday at the Community Open House and football scrimmage, and Rams merchandise will be available at five different points of sale throughout the stadium.
A variety of special events and promotions are planned for Aug. 26 to commemorate the first football game played on campus in nearly 50 years. Military Appreciation Day will salute the men and women who serve and have served in our armed forces. A giant American flag that covers the entire football field will be displayed during the national anthem, followed by a military flyover.
A gigapixel photo will be taken by Blakeway Panorama, which fans can access online to locate and tag themselves in the digital image. In addition, fans will be able to purchase a panoramic photo of the stadium in the days following the game.
Fall semester classes at Colorado State begin Monday, Aug. 21, five days before the Oregon State game. The Rams' remaining home dates are Sept. 9 (Abilene Christian), Oct. 14 (Nevada), Oct. 28 (Air Force), Nov. 11 (Boise State) and Nov. 18 (San Jose State).
The Aug. 26 game date will mark the second-earliest season-opening game in the modern era for Colorado State, and the earliest date the Rams have played a game in the state of Colorado. The Rams opened the 2002 season on Aug. 22 with a 35-29 win at No. 22 Virginia. This will be the Rams' 10th August game.
Season tickets—which include all six home games plus the Rocky Mountain Showdown—are available by contacting the Rams Sales Team at 800-491-RAMS (7267) or visiting www.CSURams.com/tickets. Three-game mini-plan packages also are on sale now, as well as single-game tickets to every game except the Oregon State contest, which still may be purchased via a season ticket package.
Student tickets will be available beginning Tuesday, Aug. 15, and will be digitally loaded to students' Ram Cards. The student ticket claim process for the Aug. 26 football opener and all 2017 home volleyball matches, as well as purchase of student tickets to the Rocky Mountain Showdown, will begin at 8 a.m., Aug. 15 through CSURams.com/studenttickets. Claim schedules for remaining 2017 football home games, and for men's and women's basketball home games, will be published at a later date.
