Secor named Mountain West golfer of the month

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State women's golfer Ellen Secor was named the Mountain West Women's Golfer of the Month announced by the conference office on Thursday.
Secor led the Rams during the month of October, including earning her first collegiate win at the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate Oct. 5-7 with a three-under 213. The junior also helped the Rams earn a first place finish – their first since the 2009-10 season. Secor finished the month leading the Rams tied for 16th at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown with a three-under 213. She also totaled eight birdies during the Showdown, including an eagle during the second round.
On the month, Secor is sitting at a six-under 426 and a 71 stroke average. For the season, the junior has played 12 rounds and averaging a 73.83 with a two-over par.
Colorado State will have some time off the course as the Rams will return for their spring schedule after the New Year on Feb. 18 for the Rebel Beach in Las Vegas, Nev., at the Spanish Trail CC.
