Rams’ Devos tallies 23 points, bench scores season-high 20 points in win over Ospreys
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Sophomore guard Lore Deovs registered a 23-point effort to pace the Colorado State women's basketball team to a 61-59 win on Sunday afternoon from Moby Arena.
Â
Devos shot 9-for-16 from the floor en route to her second outing with 20 points or more this season. Devos was supported by 20 points off the bench, with half accounted for by sophomore forward Lena Svanholm on 4-for-6 shooting (2-for-3 on threes). The Horsholm, Denmark native added five rebounds to her line in her 17 minutes played. Senior guard Myanne Hamm tallied a season-high eight points on 3-for-5 shooting off the bench. Overall, the Rams' bench combined to shoot 8-for-14 (57.1 percent).
Â
The most significant basket for Devos on Sunday was her last, a layup to put the Rams ahead, 59-57, with just over 30 seconds to go. Colorado State had led by as many as five with just under three minutes to play, but a timely three and pair of free throws for the Ospreys forced the 57-57 deadlock. The Rams had built up their lead in the third quarter, outscoring the Ospreys, 11-5. The Rams held the Ospreys to just 14.3 percent shooting (2-for-14) over that 10-minute stretch.
Â
Colorado State (3-3) and North Florida (3-3) played a tight first half, with the Ospreys taking a 34-33 lead to the break. CSU was the superior shooting team in the first half, tallying a 48 to 39 percent advantage from the floor. However, North Florida made four more threes than CSU in the first half and made the only free throws of the opening 20 minutes en route to its one-point halftime advantage. The Rams finished the game on top in three-point field goal percentage (31.6 to 30.6 percent) and free throw percentage (100 to 66.7 percent) while maintaining their overall shooting edge (40 to 33.9 percent).
IN THEIR WORDS
Colorado State head coach Ryun Williams
"That was a fun finish for everybody, and that's a good win for our basketball team against a North Florida team that we knew was going to cause us fits. Their quickness is a lot better than ours, and they can be quite disruptive. They shot the three well … I thought our kids fought, battled and came away with a fun win in Moby."

NOTES
The Colorado State women's basketball team remains at Moby Arena for a pair of home contests next week. The Rams host Northern Arizona at 11:30 a.m. MT on Wednesday and Arizona State at 2 p.m. MT on Sunday.
