Women’s golf signs four to 2019-20 roster

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – First year head women's golf coach, Laura Cilek announced the addition of four student-athletes to the 2019-20 roster on Friday. Andrea Bergsdottir, Gabby Minier and sisters Tomine and Thea Bjerkelo will join the Ram squad next season following their final year of prep.
"We are excited to announce our worldwide 2019 recruiting class," said head coach Laura Cilek. "These women exemplify hard work, commitment, and a desire to perform their best in the classroom and on the golf course. We are looking forward to welcoming them to Fort Collins in the fall!"
Andrea Bergsdottir | Gothenburg, Sweden
- Won three tournaments in 2017, including the Oijared Junior Open, Innesvingen Junior Open and Gullbringa Open
- Played in the European Ladies Team Championship scoring a +1 and finishing 46th
- Finished 9th in the Irish Girls Open (stroke play) and on the Swedish Tour Elite
- Placed 16th overall in the Scottish Girls Open

Tomine Bjerkelo | Sandnes, Norway
- Earned first place in the Norges Cup with a -3 (71-66-67)
- Grabbed silver in the Norwegian Junior Team Championship and bronze in the Norwegian Team Championship
- Placed fifth I the Order of Merit Norge Cup in 2018 and sixth in the Norwegian Championship
- Tied for seventh in the Norwegian Junior Championship

Thea Bjerkelo | Sandnes, Norway
- Earned first place on the Srixon Tour Byneset GK in 2017 with a -2 (72-67-75)
- Two-time second place winner in the Garmin Norgescup and a second place finish on the Norwegian Junior Team Championship
- Finished third in the Norwegian Team Championship
- Her lowest round ever carded was a (-7) 65, while her first under-par round was a (-5) 67.

Gabby Minier | Goleta, California
- Four year letterman and 2018 team MVP at Dos Pueblos HS
- Medaled in all 15 matches in 2018, including winning the league championship by 15 strokes
- Finished the season with 36 stroke average
- 2017-18 VCJGA Sportsman of the Year and points leader with a 74.3 average and low rounds of 69 twice
- Won the 2018 North South Cup as the anchor pairing, winning the final point
- Was named the USA Kids Player of the Year in 2015

Colorado State will continue the 2018-19 season on Feb. 18-19 at the Rebel Beach in Las Vegas, Nev., at the Spanish Trail Country Club.
