TUCSON, Ariz. – The Colorado State women's golf team fought hard in the final round of the Mountainview Collegiate Invitational on Sunday, recording its lowest score of the weekend with a two-under par, 286 to finish the weekend in sixth place. The third round score was the second lowest of the day, behind first-place finisher Illinois (283) and third-place finisher Missouri (282).

Four Rams carded their lowest score of the weekend on the final day, including Katrina Prendergast who inked a team-best three-under par 69 on Sunday.

Ellen Secor finished on the top of the leaderboard for Colorado State, placing tied for eighth with a two-over par 218 after tallying a 72 on the final round. Secor par'd or birdied 15 holes on the day, marking a one-over par on the back nine before working to even par on the front with a one-under.

Katrina Prendergast had the lowest round of the weekend with a three-under par 69 in the final round. The junior worked to a one-under par in the back nine, recording two birdies and six pars. In the font, she had a birdie and eagled hole nine, while par'ing six holes to finish the weekend in 12th place.

TUCSON, Ariz. – After two rounds at the Mountainview Collegiate, the Colorado State women's golf team is 10th place after scoring a 24-over par 312 on Saturday. The Rams drop five places after starting the Invitational in fifth place.

Ellen Secor leads the Rams tied for 11th place after carding a 74 during round two. Secor is two-over par on the weekend after finished round one at even par, 72. The sophomore started Saturday's round play aggressive, recording three birdies on the front nine to start the round three-under heading to the back nine. Secor was two-under with three holes left to play in the round, but a couple miscues in the final two holes put her at two-over for the day.

Prendergast tried to dial it in all day, starting the second round on the front nine and carried a two-over par in the turn. She shaved her score down to even par after 12 holes, but made par on just one of the last six holes to finish seven-over 79 on Saturday and tied for 22nd.

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Colorado State women's golf team started the Mountainview Collegiate in fifth place after the first round of play. Both Katrina Prenderast and Ellen Secor finished the day in the top-10. Secor carded a 72 – even par to place tied for 10th, while Prendergast recorded a one-under par 71 to be tied for seventh. The pair combined for nine birdies in the round.

Prendergast started the day on the back nine and played a consistent game making the turn at even par. In the front, she shaved her score making par or better on the final five holes, including two birdies, to finish the day with a 71.

Secor also hit the ball well, making the turn to go to the front nine just one-over par. On the front, she par six holes and birdied two others to finish the opening round with an even 72.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State women's golf team will continue action at the Mountainview Collegiate Invitational Friday - Saturday in Tucson, Ariz., at the MountainView Golf Club. All three rounds will be played at MountainView GC, with one round played each day starting at 9 a.m. MT. The course is a par 72 and plays 6,227 yards.

FORMAT
Three-day, 54-hole tournament with 18 holes played each day starting on Friday through Sunday. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.

There will be a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. MT on each day with 18 holes started off the first and 10th holes. Round three on Sunday will have also have a shotgun start starting at 9 a.m. MT.

TWO RAMS QUALIFY FOR U.S. WOMEN'S AMATEUR… AGAIN
For the second consecutive year, teammates Katrina Prendergast and Ellen Secor qualified for the U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship. A year after earning medalists honors at the Ranch CC, Prendergast and Secor repeated in that role, this time by shooting a best-ball six-under par 66 on Oct. 3 at Walnut Creek Golf Preserve in Westminster, Colo. The 2018 U.S. Women's Four-Ball will be held April 28-May 2 at El Caballero CC in Tarzana, Calif. It will be the third-straight trip to the national Women's Four-Ball for Secor and second for Prendergast.
