ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Colorado State women's golf team finished the first day of the BYU at Entrada Classic in sixth place after recording a 602 (+26). The Rams finished the opening round with a 296 and sat in fifth place, led by senior Katarina Prendergast who carded a three-under 69.

Prendergast started the day midway through the front course and scored par or better all the way through the back nine. The senior tallied just one bogy on the round, coming on the second hole, but responded with a pair of birdies to finish the day tied for second out of 75 golfers. In the second round, Prendergast started with a birdie and worked to two-under nearly half way through the round before a hiccup on the ninth hole to finish the day five-over with a 77 and currently tied for seventh.

Ellen Secor began the first round, carding a three-over 75 with four birdies for the first 18, before finishing the day with another 77 in the second round to be tied for 37th. Both Jessica Sloot and Saga Traustadottir finished the opening round with four-over 76s, before Traustadottir carded a 75 in the second round for tied for 32nd and Sloot inked at 77 to tie for 45th.
