Rams’ Adam Dawson named Mountain West Athlete of the Week

Dawson registered the NCAA’s No. 41 discus performance and the best mark in the Mountain West this season
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State redshirt-freshman Adam Dawson has been named the Mountain West Men's Field Athlete of the Week. The conference announced its weekly track & field honors on Tuesday.
This marks the first outdoor weekly conference honor of Dawson's career, and the second of his career overall (one indoor in 2019). Dawson is the second Ram to receive a weekly accolade from the league this outdoor season, along with fellow thrower Shadae Lawrence.
Dawson won the men's discus at the Tom Benich Invite with a mark of 178-1 (54.29m), which is a personal best and the No. 13 mark on CSU's all-time outdoor list. With his performance, the Parker, Colo., native ranks 41st in the NCAA in the men's discus this season, No, 26 on the NCAA West list and tops in the Mountain West.
The Colorado State track & field team returns to action this Friday and Saturday at the Colorado Invitational. The meet is hosted by Colorado at Potts Field in Boulder, Colo.
