Event raises money for CSU Alumni Association scholarship fund
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Alumni are encouraged to celebrate their school as the Colorado Rockies host Colorado State University Day at Coors Field on Sunday, June 30.
The Rockies will host the Los Angeles Dodgers, with first pitch at 1:10 p.m., with the Mountain Horns A Capella group from the CSU College of Music performing the National Anthem.
Incoming President Joyce McConnell and CSU senior pitcher Bridgette Hutton will simultaneously throw out the first pitch. Hutton and Rams are coming off a historic 39-win season which included the Mountain West championship, and Hutton tossed a shutout as the team beat Harvard for its first NCAA Regional win since 1997. During the pregame activities, a celebration of Colorado State's 150th year will be highlighted.
Tickets are discounted for that game, with each one sold contributing a $2 donation to the Colorado State Alumni Association scholarship fund. Included in the package is a Rams themed Rockies hat. Ticket prices range from $30-$60, using the promo code: RAMS. Order early, as ticket prices will increase at midnight, May 24.
The university is also hosting a pregame rally for an additional $10 fee. After buying the special CSU game tickets, fans will be sent an email to sign up for the rally. It will take place at the Coors Outdoor Pavilion Area and is limited to the first 750 individuals who register. O'Connell and athletic director Joe Parker and basketball coach Niko Medved will speak as Kristi Bohlender emcees the proceedings.
