Women’s Golf inks pair to WGCA All-American Scholar Team

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Colorado State women's golf team placed a pair of student-athletes on the 2018-19 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar team as the association announced its annual honors. Junior Jessica Sloot and freshman Saga Traustadottir were named to the All-American Scholar team. The criteria to be named an All-American Scholar includes a minimum cumulate GPA of 3.50.

Jessica Sloot was named an All-American Scholar for the third consecutive season, while Saga Traustadottir was named for the first time. This is the 25th consecutive year that Colorado State has had a student-athlete be named to the team.
 
Overall, 1,097 women's collegiate golfers were recognized with the prestigious All-American Scholar honor including a combined 28 from the Mountain West. Wyoming led the way with six honorees, while New Mexico and Fresno State had five.
 
About the Women's Golf Coaches Association
The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 600 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
