Colorado State Looks to Even Season Series Against UNLV Wednesday at 7 p.m.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Aiming for redemption, the Colorado State women's basketball team will get its rematch against UNLV on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. tip inside Moby Arena.

On the first day of the February, the Rams (11-14, 5-9 MW) had the Lady Rebels (12-13, 8-6) on the ropes with a four-point lead and less than two minutes remaining but did not finish. UNLV went to a tear of 10-straight points paired with a few CSU mishaps and the Rams came up empty handed with a 56-52 loss.

However, Moby Arena is where CSU has had its most success against UNLV to a tone of 17-5 within the overall series' 30-19 standing – Ram favor. The last time the Lady Rebels won in Fort Collins was in 2008, which spans nine contests between the two schools in Moby Arena.

Colorado State will don their orange jerseys for its annual Orange Out, paying homage to the roots of Colorado State A&M Aggies.

Mountain West Outlook
Within the Mountain West standings, CSU currently stands in ninth with four remaining games before the conference tournament at the start of March. The Rams look for a series sweep in one of the games (AF) and a split in the other three (UNLV, SJSU, SDSU).

Off The Tip
• Last time out, the Rams fell with a heavy heart to Wyoming, 43-40, in CSU's UCHealth game that featured the student-athletes wearing the names of cancer patients. The matchup on display was the top two defenses in the Mountain West and it showed as it marked Colorado State's lowest scoring of the season, while it was Wyoming's second-lowest output. Andrea Brady led the Rams with 12 points and nine rebounds with Lore Devos pitching in a season-high eight boards.

• During conference play, Andrea Brady and Makenzie Ellis have been the Rams' stalwarts. Ellis has 10 double-digit scoring games in MW play and has poured in 155 (12.9 ppg) points in the 12 games after the pre-holiday MW games. Brady has compiled 108 rebounds (7.7 rpg) with 100 points (7.1 ppg) in conference play with highs of 23 points against Boise State and a school record 23 rebounds against San Jose State, which also stands third in NCAA DI this season.

• Defense continues to be the Rams' specialty. Fourteen times this season CSU, the MW second-best scoring defense (59.7 ppg), has held an opponent to 60 points or less. Seven times it has been below 50 points - a feat not replicated in the MW. Sixteen times this season, CSU held its opponent to under 10 points in a quarter including four times it has been under five points.

• Ball control continues to be a strength for the Rams. CSU has had less turnovers than its opponent in all but five games (UIW, BSU, NM, AFA, at NEV), ranking first in the Mountain West in turnovers per game (10.7), which checks in second nationally. The turnover margin (+4.5) is second in the MW and 31st in the NCAA. In all but six games (SDSU, BSU, TUL, NM, UNLV, FS), the Rams have scored more points off of the turnovers than its counterpart.

• Redshirt-senior forward Andrea Brady has pulled in a team-high 214 rebounds, which ranks fifth in the Mountain West and 70th in the NCAA. Average-wise that pans out to 8.6 a game for fourth in the conference and 90th nationally. She has five double-digit board games with a high of 23 and has had at least six in all but three games. She is on pace for 256 rebounds which would put her in CSU's all-time top-10 single-season record list.

What to Watch For? (Stats based on all games)
• UNLV Scoring Offense  (10th in MW) vs. CSU scoring defense (T-2nd in MW)
• UNLV Scoring Defense  (T-2nd in MW) vs. CSU scoring offense (8th in MW)
• UNLV 3FG percentage defense (1st in MW) vs. CSU 3FG percentage offense (5th in MW)
• UNLV's Rodjanae Wade (8th in ppg, 1st in rpg) vs. CSU's Andrea Brady (4th in rpg)

More on UNLV Lady Rebels
• UNLV is currently tied fourth in the Mountain West, along with Wyoming, and both teams hold a game and a half lead over San Diego State. The Lady Rebels would clinch an opening round bye with two more wins.
•  The 2019-20 UNLV Lady Rebel squad are one of the youngest and least experienced teams in the Mountain West this season after graduating four senior starters. The roster consists of 10 underclassmen.

In Game One vs. UNLV (2/1/20; more on page 9 of game notes)
• The Rams led 37-35 going into the fourth quarter, before UNLV outscored CSU by six in the final frame.
• Neither team shot with conviction as each hovered in the lower 30 percent, but it was the three-point shooting that was the determinant. The Rams were a season-worst 13 percent (3-of-23), while the Lady Rebels fared twice as better at 26.7 percent (8-of-30).
• After CSU took a four-point lead, 50-46, at the 2:36 mark, UNLV scored 10 unanswered points in a stretch that included three CSU turnovers and a 0-of-4 shooting cold streak.
