Colorado State looks forward to tomorrow

LINCOLN, Neb.  – The Colorado State women's tennis team finished its first day in Nebraska, dropping the match to the Nebraska Huskers, 6-1.

Senior Alyssa Grijalva had herself a day in Nebraska. In doubles matchups, she and her doubles partner Priscilla Palermo defeated Nebraska's Chloe and Ellie Kuckelman, 6-3. The pair is on a three-win streak at doubles.

In a tough battle on the singles court, Grijalva defeated the Huskers 7-5 in the first set and 6-1 in the second. The remainder of the courts were not so fortunate for the Rams, granting singles points for Nebraska and securing a win for the Huskers.

The Rams are still hopeful for tomorrow's match against the South Dakota Coyotes. Though there is little time between today's loss and tomorrow's morning battle, the team will persevere.

"We fought hard and played with great energy," head coach Jarod Camerota said. "We had a chance to get four points tonight, but couldn't quite get there. I'm proud of the team and know we're on a good path. We'll get some rest tonight and come out tomorrow with great energy against South Dakota."
