With 17 of the top 100 teams in the field, CSU moved up three places in the afternoon round

CHULA VISTA, Calif. – Colorado State improved its standing from its morning round and is currently tied for fifth after 36 holes of the 2020 Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic, March 9. The two-day, 54-hole tournament, hosted by the University of San Diego and San Diego State University, is being played at San Diego Country Club (Par 72 – 7,033 yards) in Chula Vista, Calif.
 
In a field that features nine teams in Golfstat's top 50 and 17 in the top 100, the #19 Rams shot a 3-over 291 in the morning round and followed it up with an 1-over 289 in the afternoon to finish the day at 4-over 580 in tie with No. 28 San Diego State. The field is tightly bunched as just seven shots separate first from eighth. San Francisco is the only team under-par at 1-under 575, with #3 Arizona State and #37 Tennessee tied for second at even-par 576. California is fourth at 3-over 579, followed by CSU and SDSU.
 
Sophomore Davis Bryant is the Rams' leader at 3-under 141 in fifth, following a pair of under-par rounds of 71 and 70. Senior AJ Ott posted a 1-under 143 for the day and is currently tied for 12th. Junior Parathakorn Suyasri is two shots back at 1-over 145, tied for 22nd. Junior Jack Ainscough is in a tie for 63rd at 7-over 151, with sophomore Oscar Teiffel one shot back at 9-over 153 in a tie for 75th. Arizona State's Cameron Sisk is the individual leader at 6-under 138, one shot ahead of San Francisco's Tim Widing and Soren Lind in second at 5-under 139.
 
The final round will start on Tuesday, March 10 at 8:30 am PT.
