Team will look for quicker start Sunday as California trip continues
FRESNO, Calif. – Despite controlling play better in the final 45 minutes on Friday night, Colorado State came up empty on the offensive end in a 3-0 Mountain West loss to Fresno State on Friday night.

The Bulldogs remained unbeaten in conference play with the victory, now sitting at 2-0-1 (4-3-3 overall). Colorado State slipped to 1-5-2, 0-3-0.

Fresno State hit the board first with a goal from Kassandra Ceja in the 19th minute of play. For most of the remainder of play, the score remained at that point, but with the Rams urgently needing an equalizer, the Bulldogs took advantage with a pair in the final five minutes as Sam Tristan and Bailee Kern both found the net.

"It was a tough game tonight; credit to Fresno State for the win. We came out much better in the second half in terms of how we possessed the ball and played with more heart," CSU head coach Keeley Hagen said. "We pushed a ton of numbers forward at the end to try and equalize, but when you do that, you risk getting scored on, and Fresno capitalized, especially when we were a man down. We will regroup and make sure to start better on Sunday."

The Rams continue their California swing that day with a match against San Jose State (1 p.m. MT).

Colorado State took more shots (10-8) and had more corner kick (7-3) in the contest. Haylee Blach led the Rams with three shots in the contest.
