Rams Claim Six All-Mountain West, Newcomer of the Year Award

Colorado State totals most postseason honors in the conference and ties for most ever.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State earned six All-Mountain West awards, the most in the league and tied for the most ever with the 2017 season. Kennedy Stanford, Alexa Roumeliotis, Ciera Pritchard and Karina Leber were named All-Mountain West, while Annie Sullivan and Sasha Colombo were tabbed honorable mention. Sullivan was also named the Newcomer of the Year for the conference – Colorado State's fourth NOY and first since 2017 when Breana Runnels was named.
 
Alexa Roumeliotis and Ciera Pritchard both earned their second All-Mountain West awards, while Sasha Colombo also picked up honorable mention for the second time. Kennedy Stanford, Karina Leber and Annie Sullivan all earned their first all-conference honors.
 
Roumeliotis has been the cornerstone of the Rams' defense all season as the starting libero. The senior has totaled 424 digs so far this season, averaging the second best average in the league with a 4.42 average. She has totaled double-figure digs in 24 matches this season – all but two matches she has played in. The senior has also broke the 20-dig mark five times this season, including a season-high 29 digs against Oregon State.
 
Pritchard has been the director of the Rams' offense this season – one that has had eight matches hitting over.300 – and dishing out 10.11 assists per set overall – second best in the Mountain West and 10.40 in Mountain West play to lead the league. She has 20 matches this season with 30-plus assists and seven with 40-plus, including a season-high 53 at Wyoming. On the defensive side, she averages 2.06 digs and has a team-high seven double-doubles this season.
 
Stanford paces the offense for Colorado State, averaging 3.28 kills per set and seventh overall and in the Mountain West. She has 16 matches with double-figure kills, including a career-high in the regular-season finale at Boise State with 21. The outside has also recorded one double-double with 13 kills and 10 digs at NC State and posted four matches with over a .400 hitting mark while tallying double-figure kills. The sophomore also is eight in the point's standings, averaging 3.69 points per set.
 
Leber has been the leading middle blocker for the Rams, but also holds the third most kills for the team. The sophomore averages 2.22 kills per set, while controlling the net with a 0.76 block average. On offense, she has recorded seven matches with double-figure kills and holds the second-best hitting mark with a .333 efficiency. She has 11 matches where he has floored eight-or-more kills and hit over .400. Her season-high block total came at Northern Colorado when she tallied seven.
 
Colombo has been the most efficient for the Rams' offense in 2021, posting a team-best .381 hitting mark, which leads the Mountain West in league play and third overall. She has five matches with eight-or-more kills and hitting over .400. She also has nine matches where she has one or zero hitting errors while taking double-figure swings. At the net, she leads the Rams with a 0.88 block average, totaling 82 blocks on the season, including 11 solo.
 
Sullivan has been a great addition to Colorado State after transferring from High Point. The outside is second on the team with a 2.71 kill average and 271 total kills. She has 16 matches with double-figure kills, including a season-high 17 against Wyoming. At the net, she has the fourth most blocks on the team and the second solo stuffs with 10. The junior has six matches with double-figure kills and hitting over .300.
 
Colorado State will begin the Mountain West Tournament as the No. 1 seed and will face the winner of the UNLV/New Mexico match on Thursday at 5 p.m., MT in Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas. The Mountain West Tournament will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network.
