BAKERSFIELD, CALIF. – The Colorado State women's golf team started its delayed 2020-21 season at The Valley Invitational, finishing fifth with a 317-312-303—932 (+68) on the three-round, two-day opener. The Rams were led by freshman Panchalika Arphamongkol who inked a 77-78-75—230 to tie for 10th in her collegiate debut.
"It was great to see Friendly (Arphamongkol) start her college career with a top-10 finish," said head coach Laura Cilek. "She was composed, confident, and trusted her process."
TOURNAMENT NOTES
- The four scoring players for the Rams all finished in the top-20, including individual, Sofia Torres who was making her collegiate debut
- Colorado State led the field on the par 3s, finishing +12 over the three rounds averaging 3.20
- The Rams also finished the week with 149 pars on the course – third against the field
- Arphamongkol and Saga Traustadottir were on the top of the list on par 3s, carding just a +1 on them
