Colorado State Soccer Releases Slate of 19 Games
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Regularity returns to the pitch this fall for the Colorado State soccer program with fan attendance and a full slate of games comprising the 2021 fall regular season schedule, announced Thursday by head coach Keeley Hagen.
"After the abnormal 2020-2021 season, we are thrilled to have some normalcy back into this upcoming fall '21 season," Hagen said. "The team has put in a lot of good work during the summer, and we are excited to continue to grow and develop this fall."
Fans will not have to wait long to see the Rams in action as the 19-game schedule starts with two exhibitions at the CSU Soccer Field, starting with Texas Tech on Tuesday, Aug. 9th at 4 p.m. and then Saturday, Aug. 14th against Northern Colorado at noon. The latter is a part of the Colorado Cup that kicks off the regular season. Continuing the in-state tourney, the Rams travel to Colorado on Thursday, Aug. 19th for game one and then play at Denver that Sunday, the 22nd.
Following that two-game away series, CSU will enjoy the following six weeks either at home or nearby with two open dates sprinkled in. The non-conference home games include South Dakota (8/26), Kansas State (9/5), and Idaho State (9/12) with the away contest down the road at Northern Colorado (9/2). The second open date comes on Sept. 17th before the Mountain West contests begin.
The Rams will be tested early in conference play, drawing the two teams that reached the spring conference championship in San Diego State and defending champion New Mexico. Both of those will be at home on a Friday-Sunday series (9/24 & 26). After that, CSU will embark on their first air travel trip to Fresno State (10/1) and San Jose State (10/3).
The last half of the schedule consists of two straight weeks of four games at home versus Colorado College (10/8), Air Force (10/10), Nevada (10/15) and UNLV (10/17) before closing out the schedule with games at Utah State (10/21), Boise State (10/24) and Wyoming (10/29).
