The Rams have three players in the top 40 in the tournament
VERONA, Wis. – Colorado State has three players in the top 40 overall and currently sits in ninth after the first round of the 2021 Badger Invitational. The three-day, 54-hole tournament, hosted by the University of Wisconsin, is being played at University Ridge Golf Course (Par 72 – 6,302 yards) in Verona, Wis.

CSU started on the back nine and after some early challenges, put together more birdies on its last nine to shoot a 13-over 302 and sit in ninth. Host Wisconsin is the opening round leader at 5-under 283, the only team under par through 18 holes. Just 10 shots separate second from ninth, with Grand Canyon and SMU tied for second at 3-over 291. Washington State sits fourth at 6-over 294, with Old Dominion completing the top five teams at 8-over 296.

CSU is again being led by junior Andrea Bergsdottir, as she had two birdies and three bogeys on the day and shot a 1-over 73 to currently tie for 14th. Sophomore Sofia Torres is next in a tie for 35h at 4-over 76 along with teammate freshman Lacey Uchida. Freshman Pemika Arphamongkol is one shot back at 5-over 77, tied for 44th, while her sister sophomore Panchalika Arphamongkol is tied for 55th at 7-over 79. Iowa's Paula Miranda has a three-shot individual lead after the first round, posting a 5-under 67.

CSU will tee off the second round starting at 9 a.m. on No. 10, paying with Pepperdine and Notre Dame.
