FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State volleyball team saw its first set back in conference play last weekend as the team fell to undefeated San Jose State Saturday afternoon in five sets. Entering just two more weeks with fresh opponents before circling back into the second round of the Mountain West regular season, the Rams are looking to bounce back on the road this weekend as they travel to Fresno State Thursday and San Diego State Saturday.

What You Need to Know
- The Rams split last week's home matches with a sweep over Nevada Thursday and then a loss to San Jose State Saturday, which took five sets.
- Colorado State played well against Nevada, outscoring the Wolf Pack in kills, blocks, assists and digs. They were able to limit Nevada to just a .084 hitting percentage.
- Saturday posed a bigger threat to the Rams as it was the battle of the two unbeaten Mountain West teams. Both Colorado State and San Jose State entered with a 5-0 conference record, but something had to give. Trading the first four sets, the Spartans ended with the momentum in the fifth set ultimately handing the Rams their first conference loss of the season.
Series History
- Once again, the Rams find themselves on the stronger side of history as they lead both the Bulldogs and Aztecs all-time within both series.
- One thing to note is Colorado State's losing record while playing at the Save Mart Center in Fresno. The Bulldogs are a tough team to play at home. Even though they have lost all three of their conference home games so far this season, two of those game went into five sets, including one against San Jose State.
- The Aztecs have more of a skew to their series history with the Rams. The main difference maker when it comes to success over San Diego State has been Head Coach Tom Hilbert. Before Hilbert's arrival in 1997, Colorado State was 3-12 against the Aztecs, but with a 43-4 record under Hilbert now, its safe to say the tables have turned on that matchup.

- The front row rotation of Malaya Jones, Karina Leber and Naeemah Weathers all had four blocks over Nevada last Thursday night.
- Kennedy Stanford and Annie Sullivan led the Rams in kills over the weekend as Stanford totaled nine over Nevada and 15 over San Jose State, while Sullivan added eight over the Wolf Pack and 12 over the Spartans.
- Junior Helena Perez had a season high 12 digs against the Spartans Saturday.
- Colorado State continues to lead the Mountain West in hitting percentage averaging .264.
- Looking ahead: After a weekend on the road, the Rams will have a split weekend as they host Boise State in a Pink Out game Thursday, October 20 and an away match against Utah State on Saturday, October 22.
