Colorado State had six runners compete in their first meet of the season ahead of the Mountain West Championship
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Colorado State cross country team sent nine student-athletes to the Colorado Springs Open for a Friday afternoon race. The Rams had six runners competing in their first meet of the season in preparation of the Mountain West Championship that will take place next Friday, Oct. 28 in Laramie, Wyo.
Â
Carly Wall and Isabella Prosceno were the pair on the women's side that competed earlier this season, while on the men's side, Ryan Birkmeier was the lone season vet.
"Today was a very solid day for our team," said assistant coach Kelly Hart. "We are very encouraged by Connor's 12th place finish, as this was his first race this year. Our women also had a strong day, and they were led by Carly Wall, who ran aggressive and at the front from the gun. Our freshmen did a good job of working together and moving up through the race."
