CSU Opens Air Force Reserve MW Championship Against Utah State in Quarterfinals Thursday

The Rams and Aggies meet for the second time in less than two weeks when they play on CBS Sports Network at 7 pm MT

• The second-seeded Rams will open play in the 2022 Air Force Reserve Mountain West Championship on Thursday, March 10 at 6 p.m., taking on No. 7 seed Utah State. CSU coverage is presented by McDonalds at 2401 S. College in Fort Collins.
• The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.

1. Utah State has a 60-42 lead, including 3-0 in neutral site games.
2. The Rams have won four of the last five meetings, including this year's games in Fort Collins and Logan with the latter occurring less than two weeks ago, a CSU 66-55 victory. Last year, the two teams split in Logan, with CSU taking the finale. Then Utah State won the Mountain West semifinal battle.
3.  CSU has 24 overall wins on the season are tied for the fourth most in program history and the 85.7 winning percentage is currently tops. The Rams finished at 14-4 in conference play, just the second time in school history that CSU had 14 wins in league, matching last year's 14-4 mark under Niko Medved.
4. The Rams returned to the rankings this final week of the regular season, moving back in at No. 23 in the Associated Press Poll and No. 24 in the Ferris Mowers USA Today Coaches' Poll. This was the fifth week this season that CSU was ranked, the most in a single season in program history.
5. CSU has seven guaranteed opponents that played in postseason in 2020-21 on this year's schedule, combining for at least 10 games, with the Rams currently at 9-1 against those teams.
6. The Rams have done a great job taking care of possessions and making the most of them. CSU is 10th nationally in fewest turnovers at 9.93 per game and 18th on assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.46.
7. CSU is outscoring opponents by an average of 5.9 points per game in the second half, including six games with 50 or more in the final 20 minutes.
8.  Colorado State junior forward David Roddy was named a Third Team All-American, as announced by the publication. He is the only non-Power 5 or Gonzaga player on any of the three teams announced. He is the fifth CSU player ever to be recognized as an All-American. Earlier this week, he was named the Mountain West Player of the Year by the league's coaches and media in two separate polls.
9.  Junior guard Isaiah Stevens Stevens was named Second Team All-Mountain West by both the league's coaches and media in separate votes for the second straight season.
10. If the Rams win, they will play in the semifinals of 2022 Air Force Reserve Mountain West Championship on Friday, March 11 in the 10 p.m. MT game. CSU coverage is presented by McDonalds at 2401 S. College in Fort Collins.The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
