Colorado State Welcomes Local Teams for Doug Max Invitational

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Home sweet home, finally, for majority of the Rams as they will play host for a change on Saturday with the Doug Max Invitational at the Jack Christiansen Track.

It is the third running of the invitational that was named after Doug Max, a former Colorado State student-athlete turned head coach turned administrator. Max held the position of Senior Associate Athletic Director for Facility Management until retiring just a few months ago at the end of 2020. The first running of the Doug Max Invitational was on April 14, 2019 and plans are for it to continue annually, lasting longer than Max's 40 years of service to the athletic department.

The teams that will converge Saturday include Wyoming, Northern Colorado, Chadron State and UC Colorado Springs. The weather forecast projects some clouds with temperatures reaching 60 degrees. In addition to the schools, a few pros and alums will be competing including Marybeth Sant-Price, who will be running the 200 with former teammates Jessica Ozoude and Lauren Gale. Also, former Ram Hunter Price will be competing back on his college track too.

Live stream link is available at http://CSURams.com/Live. Live results link will be available prior to the start of action. The first events will occur in the field at 10 a.m., while the national anthem will go on at 10:45 a.m. with track events commencing shortly after at 11 a.m.

In the first two weeks of the outdoor season, the Rams have racked up 36 top-20 school marks including 11 within the top 5. Last weekend at the Jim Click Shootout, Lexie Keller captured the school record in the women's heptathlon, while

Willems earned the Mountain West Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors, while Keller was named the women's field recipient.

Thus far in the outdoor season, the Rams have racked up 42 top-20 school marks including 14 within the top 5 and three records. On the NCAA Outdoor Performance List, the Rams have 41 total marks in the top 50 between the women and men.
