Colorado State competes in its last regular season meet
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – With the conference meet less than two weeks away, the Colorado State track and field program will be competing in its final tune up this Friday and Saturday at the Fresno State Invitational.
Â
By now, the conference roster of 28 student-athletes on both sides (men & women) are nearing their completion. The final regular-season weekend provides a chance for the on-the-bubble spots in addition to ramping up efforts towards improving marks on the NCAA West Performance List and the approaching Mountain West Championships.
Â
Although the vast majority of the Fresno State Invitational is on Saturday, the hammer throw will be Friday's precursor starting at 3 p.m. MT for the women with the men to follow. Field events on Saturday will start at 11 a.m., while the track meets get going at 2 p.m. Live stream link is available through Flo Track and with live results available here.
Â
The sprints, throws and jump groups will all be in action, while the distance group opted for rest.
Â
The Rams have racked up 60 top-20 school marks including 22 within the top 5 and four school records. On the NCAA West Outdoor Performance List, the Rams have 35 total marks in the top 50 between the women and men.

Coach's Corner
Head coach, Brian Bedard
"Coming off consecutive home meet weekends will make this road trip feel like we are back to reality. The fact that we are going to the same area as the conference championships is beneficial so our student-athletes can get a feel of what the weather will be like, which last year was hot. Suddenly, we now are in our last meet before conference as well so there is a lot at stake this weekend. We are still finalizing our conference roster in addition to trying to hit some personal records to get some more individual NCAA bids. Our team have progressed each week and with favorable weather on our side, we look to put out some good performances in this last weekend."
Â
NCAA West Outdoor Performance List Top-50 (Colorado State)
The top 48 competitors from the NCAA West will vie to place in the top 12 and earn a berth to the NCAA Championships on June 8-11 in Eugene, Ore. The NCAA East mirrors this as well, making the field at nationals 24 for each event. One exception is the multis (heptathlon/decathlon) as the nation's top 24 will skip the regional meet and earn a bid to the NCAAs.
