Inclement weather adds a last-minute meet onto Colorado State’s schedule
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Due to inclement weather, the Colorado State Track and Field team will adjust its schedule ahead of the second weekend of competition in the new year.
Â
Originally scheduled to travel to Lincoln, Nebraska to compete in both the Prairie Wolff Invitational Friday and the Mark Colligan Invitational Saturday, a Colorado winter storm inhibited the Rams from traveling east, inevitability cancelling their trip to Lincoln. In a short turnaround, Head Coach Brian Bedard announced Friday that the Rams will instead travel south to the Colorado Running Company UCCS Invitational to compete Saturday in Colorado Springs.
Â
The meet will take place at the Mountain Lion Fieldhouse beginning at 11:30 a.m. with field events including the men's weight throw, the women's pole vault and the men's long jump. Running events will take place starting at 1 p.m. with the 60-meter hurdles.
Â
Headlining the field events for Colorado State will be Celyn Stermer and Mariano Kis who both placed first and set facility records in the Rams' last time out at the Potts Invitational hosted by Colorado. Stermer also set a school record in the pole vault, re-breaking a record she already owned by one centimeter.
Â
Top Rams to be on the lookout for during running events includes Emily Chaston, who in her first meet of the season last weekend placed first in the women's mile. Top sprinters for Colorado State include freshman Tyler Colwell, who had a personal best time in the men's 60-meters last weekend, good for second place at the Potts Invitational, as well as Jahzara Davis who finished third in the women's 60-meter hurdles.
Â
Saturday's meet will be livestreamed from the Mountain Lion Fieldhouse via the RMAC network with live results available at CSURams.com.
