Colorado State men’s golf ties for sixth at Cal Poly Invitational
CARMEL, Calif. – Colorado State men's golf teed it up for one final time this fall season at the Cal Poly Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the Preserve Golf Club in Carmel, California. Competing against some of the other top teams in the nation, CSU finished tied for sixth with Ohio State.
The Rams ended the tournament at 6-under, 858 moving up five spots in the final round thanks to three golfers shooting under-par. Rasmus Hjelm had the best round of the tournament for Colorado State with back-to-back 3-under, 69s in the second and third round.
His performance helped him tie for 13th with a 5-under, 211. He led all Rams with 12 birdies for the tournament.
Jay Pabin picked up a top 30 finish as well with 1-under, 215. He had a pair of rounds under-par shooting an opening 70 and closing the tournament with a 71. Pabin ended up tied for 28th.
A stroke behind Pabin was Connor Jones. The Colorado native ended his fall with an even-par, 216 at the Cal Poly Invitational. He was twice under par with bookend 71s. He led all Rams with 39 pars, the second most in the field.
Colorado State now preps for the winter months and spring season when it tees off February 19-21 Â at The Prestige in La Quinta, California.
