BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Following up record-setting performances is a hard task for anyone. Colorado State women's golf faced that challenge on Monday during the first two rounds of the Dal McNamara Invitational at the Golf Club of Oklahoma. While the Rams did not set any records, they are where they want to be through 36 holes.
Colorado State shot a 4-under, 573 to sit in third place and five strokes out of the lead, held by host Tulsa. Five Rams sit inside the top 20 on the individual leaderboard.
Andrea Bergsdottir leads the way for CSU posting scores of 71 and 70 Monday. The graduate student strung together three straight birdies on holes 1-3 during the opening round and capped it off with another to finish the morning 1-under. In the afternoon, she was a little steadier in the second round with three birdies and a bogey to shave a stroke off her second round.
Bergsdottir is tied for sixth at 3-under.
Sofia Torres is a stroke behind Bergsdottir at 2-under through 36 holes. She shot matching 71s on the day with a total of eight birdies.
Kara Kaneshairo, Lacey Uchida and Katie Stinchcomb are all tied for 18th. The trio is 1-over for the tournament. Uchida and Stinchcomb each shot 2-under 70s in the afternoon.
