New doubles team picks up victory
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – With one final chance to play in the fall, Colorado State made on slight change to the doubles pairings and winning seven matches overall on the first day of the San Diego State Fall Classic II on Friday.

Sarka Richterova and Luana Avelar played doubles together for the first time, advancing in their bracket with a 6-2 victory over Anna Nelson and Willow Gretsch of Colorado. Overall, the Rams won three of four doubles matches.

The team's top pairing, Radka Buzkova and Victoria Erechtchenko moved forward with a 6-4 win over Nevada's Lea Cakarevic and Mathilde Sarcelet, while Zara Lennon and Sarah Weekley moved past Uxia Martinez Moral and Sophie Luescher of Oregon, 6-1.

In singles play, Weekley beat Zoe Olmos of SDSU 6-4, 6-2; Erechtchenko posted a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Andreea Velcea of SDSU; Lennon advanced with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Cincy Chen of San Diego; and Logan Voeks won when Colorado's Anya Nelson retired with the CSU freshman leading 6-2, 3-0.
