Turnovers Down Rams after Hot Start for First Loss

Colorado State had a look at the horn, but didn’t drop
LONG BEACH, Calif. – After a hot start to the game, Colorado State suffered its first loss of the season to Long Beach State, 77-76. The Rams had a look before the final horn but couldn't find the bottom of the net. CSU also had a season-high 16 turnovers, which the Beach turned into 20 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Rams started the game shooting 67 percent in the first quarter, scoring 33 points on a 12-of-18 shooting
- CSU missed just one shot in their first 10 attempts to lead 23-10 with 4:41 left in the first frame
- In the second quarter, Colorado State made just three baskets, adding six of its 13 points from the charity stripe
- Colorado State fought to tie the game after the third quarter, 63-63
- The Rams took the lead and built a five-point advantage with 6:17 left to play
- From there, the Rams added just one layup and five points
- CSU didn't make a field goal in the last 3:49 of the game
