LOS ANGELES – A free throw, the simplest form of the game, just you and your mechanics. It was a fitting way for Isaiah Stevens to become Colorado State's all-time scoring leader. All of the time, sweat and dedication came down to the fundamentals for Stevens to surpass Pat Durham. Stevens now sits at 1,986 points, five ahead of Durham.

The fifth-year guard entered the night needing 14 points to break the record, he finished it with 19 points helping his team to a 76-67 win over LMU on Friday night. It is the 11^th win of the season for the Rams.

The scoring record wasn't the only one he passed Durham for on the night, but also the program's career made field goal mark and he recorded his 700^th career assist too. Not too bad for a kid from Allen, Texas.

His final line on the historic night was 19 points, seven assists three rebounds and a block on 8-of-13 shooting and a perfect 2-for-2 from the charity stripe.

While Steven's name will be all over the Colorado State record book when his career is done, there is one thing that means more to him, team success and winning. That's what he and the Rams did on Friday night.

It didn't come easy against a gritty, physical LMU team.

Up by as much as 16 in the first half, Colorado State saw its lead disappear with 15 minutes remaining.

Stevens and the Rams responded with a 10-0 run to reclaim control of the game and never trail again. Stevens scored the first five points of the run with Nique Clifford adding another four.

Clifford led the Rams with a career-high 23 points missing just one shot all night.

After a small holiday break, Colorado State will host Adams State on Friday, December 29 at 7 pm.
