Rams Continue to Lead the Pack in Colorado Springs

Thompson wins men's heptathlon with personal best score
COLORADO SPRINGS – Colorado State sent Rams to the Air Force Holiday Open and the UCCS Pre-Holiday Invite on Friday where seven athletes finished in first place of their event.   Â

Allam Bushara competed in the men's triple jump and placed first with a mark of 15.08 meters. Freshman Luc Baker followed closely behind in third place with a distance of 12.65 meters.

Freshman Rondisia Williams made an early impression by placing second in the women's 60-meter dash with a time of 7.69 seconds and third place in the women's 200-meter with 25.08 seconds.Â

Sierra Haberman placed first while breaking her own personal record in the women's high jump with a height of 1.65 meters. Last week, Haberman competed in the Mines Alumni Classic a took first in the high jump with a mark of 1.64m. This is her second first-place finish this indoor season.

The Rams took over the podium in the women's shot put. Senior Gabi Morris took home first with a distance of 16.84 meters, with teammate Michaela Hawkins following closely behind with a mark of 14.68 meters. Kajsa Borrman took third by recording a distance of 13.88 meters. Hawkins also placed second in weight throw with a mark of 18.05 meters.
On day two of the UCCS Pre-Holiday Invite and Multi, senior Drew Thompson placed first in the men's heptathlon with a final score 5,623Â points. This is Thompson's best score of his career and jumps him into the No. 2 spot in Colorado State track and field history.Â
