Rams Make Their Mark on Day One in Boulder

Michaela Hawkins breaks two personal records in third meet of the season
BOULDER, Colo. – The Colorado State track and field team finished the first day of the Potts Invitational in Boulder Friday with three Rams breaking personal records.
Michaela Hawkins competed in both women's shot put and weight throw, breaking her personal record in both events. In shot put, Hawkins had a mark of 15.91 meters, beating her previous mark of 15.74 meters, but keeping her at No.11 on the CSU top 20 list. Hawkins placed first in weight throw with a distance of 19.46 meters.
Kajsa Borrman enters the Colorado State record book in weight throw with a distance of 18.67 meters while also breaking her previous record of 18.01 meters. She now sits at 16th in the top 20.
Mariano Kis and Kyle Bigley see the podium once again this season. In men's shot put, Kis placed second with a mark of 17.72 meters, followed by Bigley in third place with a distance of 16.59 meters.
Also in men's weight throw, Max Christenberry set a personal best mark with a throw of 16.40 meters.
Other notable athletes include Sydney Phillips who placed first in women's pole vault with a mark of 3.66 meters. Eldridge Harris also competed in pole vault for the men. He tied for third with a clearance of 5.18 meters. Tyler Bennet placed first in the men's long jump with a distance of 6.73 meters.
