Golfers Outlast the Winds for Another Top 10 Finish

Colorado State had three golfers finish in the top 25
LA QUINTA, Calif. – Mother Nature kicked up the winds Wednesday at The Prestige making for a grinder of a final round. Colorado State weathered the storm to earn their fifth top 10 finish of the season taking sixth place shooting a 54-hole total of 15-over, 867.
Scoring averages increased by 3.7 strokes during the final round as the wind was kind to no one.
Three Rams earned top 25 finishes. Rasmus Hjelm picked up his second top 10 of the season tied for ninth with a 1-under, 212. His final round got out to a rough start going bogey, double bogey to open it. He stayed the course to finish with an even-par 71 for the second time this week. Hjelm closed his day with a birdie on three of the final four holes.
Davis Bryant and Connor Jones also earned top 25 finishes. Bryant tied for 18th with a three-day total of 216. He shot a 2-over, 73 on Wednesday. Jones finished two strokes behind his teammate for a tie for 23rd after firing off a 3-over, 74.
Overall, CSU finished ahead of five of the 11 GolfStat Top 50 teams in the field.
In the individual tournament, Gavin Hagstrom jumped up 14 spots on Wednesday to pick up a top 10 finish. His 1-under, 71 tied for the second-best round of the day helping him finish 3-over for the tournament and tied for eighth.
Colorado State returns to California in two weeks for the Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic at the San Diego Country Club March 6-7.
