Colorado State Hosts Annual Jack Christiansen Invitational

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State Track and Field teams will compete in the Jack Christiansen Invitational Friday March 31 and Saturday April 1 as the Rams host their first home meet of the season.

The College and High School Invitational will take place at the Jack Christiansen Memorial Track with things kicking off Friday at noon with the men's and women's hammer throw. The hammer throw will be the only collegiate event taking place Friday with high school events taking place afterwards.

Day two of the meet will kick off with the women's 5,000 meter run on the track and the women's shot put taking place for the field events. The meet schedule boasts a mixture of collegiate and high school events throughout the day with the men's 4x400 meter relay set as the finale event at approximately 4:15 p.m.

The Jack Christiansen Invitation is the second outdoor meet the Rams will compete in this season as Colorado State had a successful opening outdoor meet last weekend at the Spank Blasing Invitational hosted by CSU-Pueblo. Top highlights from last weekend include freshman Jo-Anna Pinnock winning the women's triple jump with a personal best mark of 12.60 meters.

Entering discus, hammer throw and javelin throw season, the Rams dynamic throwing squad boasted Mya Lesnar who meddled in three different events last weekend, Jackson Morris who won the men's javelin throw and Klaire Kovatch who won the women's discus.

Also happening this weekend, a small group of Ram distance runners will also make the trip out to the Stanford Invitational Friday afternoon to compete on the west coast.

Fans can attend the Jack Christiansen Invitational with free admission and should enter through the north gate upon entry. Live results and updates will be available by following @CSUTrackFieldXC on social media.
