Rams Claim Third at Lamkin Invitational

Bleier, Jones earn top 15 finishes
CHULA VISTA, Calif. - A strong start to the third and final round of the Lamkin Invitational fizzled out as Colorado State tied for third with Washington.Â
The Rams started strong pulling win in two of host and leader San Diego State through the first six holes, but was unable to close it out.Â
CSU shot a 2-over, 290 for the day to finish the tournament at 7-under and 13 strokes behind champion New Mexico. The Lobos edged SDSU by a stroke.Â
Christoph Bleier earned the top finish for the Rams tied for fourth with a 54-hole total of 210, to end up 6-under. Reaching as low as 10-under for the tournament early into the round he was unable to fully recover from a pair of double bogeys on the fourth and sixth hole. He shot a 3-over, 75.
Connor Jones joined him in the top 15 tying for 12th with a total of 213. He was even for the day with a 72.
One Ram did see red today in Davis Bryant. The graduate shot a 2-under, 70. He finished tied for 22nd with a 1-over, 217.Â
Colorado State returns to action March 17 and 18 at the National Invitational Tournament in Tucson, Arizona.Â
