Christoph Bleier and Davis Bryant help lead CSU to a top 5 team finish
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – Colorado State men's golf had not one, but two players finish within the top 10 at one of the best and most competitive fields of the year. Christoph Bleier and Davis Bryant each tied for sixth shooting a 2-under, 208 at the Western Intercollegiate. Their performances helped CSU tie with BYU for fifth place. It is their seventh top 5 finish of the season.
Bleier shot his second straight 69 to make his way into the top 10 on Tuesday. The sophomore went out with a 1-under, 34 that included two birdies and an eagle on the par 5 ninth. It was his second time this week with an eagle on the hole. He rode the par train home to move into a tie for sixth. It is Bleier's fifth top 10 finish of the season.
Bryant finished his tournament with a 1-over, 71. He placed four birdies on his scorecard, including three straight on the back nine. He had one big blemish with a double bogey on the par 3, eighth. It is the fourth top 10 finish of the season for the naton's 56th-ranked player.
Freshman Matthew Wilkinson posted his second, 1-over, 71 of the tournament on Wednesday as well. He led all Rams with five birdies on the day.
Colorado State's attention now turns to the Mountain West Championships at the end of the month. CSU will return to the Omni Tucson National April 28-30.
