Junior ends the year with two conference titles and two school records
AUSTIN, Texas – The Colorado State track and field team continued its run at the NCAA Championship Meet Friday night in Austin, Texas as the lone representative for the Rams was Fort Collins native Allam Bushara competing in the men's triple jump.
Â
Coming into the competition, Bushara boasts one of the best seasons of his career so far at Colorado State. Winning both the indoor and outdoor triple jump title at both of the 2023 Mountain West Championship meets this season, Bushara also extended his personal best outdoor triple jump mark to 15.79 meters earlier this year.
Â
For Allam, a personal record is also a school record as the junior entered the 2022-23 season in ownership of both the indoor and outdoor triple jump school records. With the indoor triple jump record at 16.07 meters, Bushara raised his outdoor mark by an inch earlier in the year.
Â
With a great season already locked in, unfortunately for Bushara and the Rams, Friday was simply not his night. The triple jumper scratched on all three of his jumps, ending his first appearance at the NCAA Championship Meet without a mark in the competition.
Â
Bushara will return next season for the Rams to defend his Mountain West titles and school records.
Â
The final day of the NCAA Championship Meet will take place tomorrow as both Gabi McDonald and Klaire Kovatch compete in the women's discus and Sarah Carter runs in the women's 5,000 meter run.
