Colorado State runs away from the field for the second straight Gene Miranda title

Colorado State men's golf repeated as the champions of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invite on Tuesday afternoon with the Rams finishing at 13-under, 11 strokes ahead of second place Wyoming. It is the fifth time Colorado State has won the tournament.

Junior Christoph Bleier tied with Valparaiso's Caleb VanArragon for first as the 54 holes were complete but fell in the first playoff for the medalist honor. Bleier ended his tournament with just one bogey. He finished with a total of 203 (-13) closing the tournament with a 5-under, 67 on Tuesday.

Three Rams shot under par during the final round as Connor Jones and Derek Lekkerker joined Bleier. Jones shot a 2-under, 70 to finish the tournament at 1-under. Meanwhile, Lekkerker finished with a 1-under, 71.

Jones joined Bleier inside the top 10 tying for ninth with teammate Jake Rodgers. The freshman shot an even-par, 72 on Tuesday to improve to a perfect 2-for-2 on top 10 finishes in his collegiate career.

Colorado State continues its competitive fall schedule when they head to the Husky Invitational September 18-19. The tournament hosted by Washington will be played at the Golf Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Washington.
