Connor Jones and Christoph Bleier pace Colorado State at the Husky Invite
BREMERTON, Wash. – In a field that looked like an NCAA Regional in September, Connor Jones and Christoph Bleier stayed lock step with the top competition. Jones picked up his third top 10 of the season, while Bleier once again finished inside the top 15.
Â
Jones improved his score each round opening with a 73 Monday morning, but coming back in the afternoon with a 70. He saved his best for last with a 4-under 68 Tuesday. Jones had five birdies on his front nine as he made the turn at 5-under. He was consistent on the second nine with just two bogeys and a birdie.
Â
Bleier had a good final round shooting a 4-under, 68 as well. He had a bogey-free round going until his 12th hole, the par 4 fourth where he ended up with a bogey. The 4-under, 68 was his best round of the tournament after posting a 69 in round one and 77 in the second round.
Â
After the duo of Jones and Bleier, CSU struggled at times leading to a team finish of 13th. They did post their best round on Tuesday with an even-par 288.
Â
Colorado State men's golf will enjoy the rest until October 2 and 3 when they play in The Simpson hosted by Colorado at Colorado National in Erie.
