Colorado State women’s team repeats at Wyoming Invite

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State started its 2023 season at the Wyoming Invite in Cheyenne, Wyo., on Saturday morning, repeating the results from last season – women taking first and the men second.

"Today was a good start for both teams," said head coach Kelly Hart. "Our veterans took care of business up front and we had some very encouraging results from our newcomers as well. Today helped expose what we need to work on this season, and we look forward to building from here."

Both races were 5K distances with Sarah Carter leading all women runners with a time of 17:40.2. Emily Chaston finished just behind at 17:55.8 and Quinn McConnell rounded out the top five crossing at 18:14.5.

On the men's side, Mason Brown led all Rams with a second place finish and a mark of 15:12.0. Ben Kirbo and Lars Mitchel rounded out the top 10.

Colorado State also had a handful of runners competing unattached.
