What You Need to Know
  • The Rams will host their first Mountain West opponents during week two of the conference regular season after starting on the road last week at Boise State and Utah State.
  • Saturday's contest against UNLV will act as the annual Ag Day Orange Out game where fans are encouraged to wear orange. Ag Day is set to honor CSU's roots as a leader in agricultural education, research, and outreach. It is a tradition for the Rams to wear pumpkin and alfalfa uniforms and go by 'the Aggies' to celebrate the history of Colorado State and Colorado A&M.
  • Saturday's game will also be the first hike and spike doubleheader of the season featuring both Colorado State volleyball and football playing at home. The Rams' football team will also participate in Ag Day with an Orange Out of its own as they face Utah Tech at 5 p.m. at Canvas Stadium.

Scouting the Aztecs and Rebels
  • San Diego State began its conference season 1-1 with UNLV going 2-0 in week one of Mountain West play while both teams enter Moby Arena with a mutual win over San Jose State last week.
  • San Diego State sophomore Taylor Underwood totaled 13 kills in the 3-1 win over San Jose State with outside hitter Mikela Labno also adding 10 kills of her own. Over the weekend as a whole, it was sophomore outside hitter Madison Corf who led the Aztecs in kills with 17 total, good for seventh in the Mountain West after opening weekend.
  • The Rebels bring a six-game win streak with them to Moby Arena but are 1-3 on the road this season. The one road win so far this season for UNLV is a mutual opponent of the Rams as the Rebels beat the Colorado Buffaloes 3-1 in Boulder during non-conference play.
  • The Rebels' Isabel Martin recorded 18 kills in UNLV's 3-0 win over San Jose State. Martin was named 2022 Mountain West Player of the Year following last season and so far this year has been named the 2023 Preseason Mountain West Player of Year and Offensive Player of the Week after week three of the season.

In her first set against Boise, she had six kills while hitting a .455 efficiency. This puts her sixth in the conference in kills through the conference season so far. She also tallied 14 digs over the weekend.
  • Outside hitter Annie Sullivan was another noteworthy hitter in week one of conference play. Sullivan had a total of 17 kills, 11 of them being against Boise State.
  • Redshirt-sophomore libero Kate Yoshimoto continues to lead the Colorado State defense in the back row as she had her second-best digs number of the season against Boise State with 26 digs total. She led the team in digs the whole weekend with 33 total.
