Fout’s fourth goal of the season propels Colorado State’s win streak to four

Colorado State earned its fourth win of the season on Thursday in Missoula with a 1-0 win over Montana. It was a one-goal affair that was full of offensive chances for both teams but only the Rams found the back of the net. 

Thursday was not only the fourth consecutive win for the Rams, but also their fourth consecutive shutout. Goaltender Shayna Ross held strong for the Rams stopping all four chances the Grizzlies got through. 

On the offensive side, the squad powered seven shots on net with the final breaking the scoreless affair. Olivia Fout scored for the fourth time in five matches collecting her 8th point of the season in just the fourth week. Ali Yoshida and Kaitlyn Abrams were both credited with the assist on Fout's score. Abrams earned her second assist of 2023 while Yoshida notched her first point. 
 
Colorado State started the match pushing the pace, keeping the Grizzlies on their heels with eight first half shots. Montana was able to even the chances in the second half, each team sending seven attempts towards the goal. 

The win was the first for the Rams when facing off with the Grizzlies. The Rams are back in action at noon on Sunday when they face off against Idaho State.
