Hofschild Becomes Mountain West All-Time Assist Leader in Border War Battle

The All-American finished with six assists to become the league leader, while moving to second all-time scorer for Colorado State
LARAMIE, Wyo. – McKenna Hofschild became the Mountain West's all-time assist leader after recording six assists in a 67-63 loss at Wyoming on Saturday afternoon. The All-American also finished with 18 points to move into second all-time for career-points at Colorado State. Hofschild has 692 career assists and 1,892 points at Colorado State.

HOW IT WENT
- The Rams used a couple runs in the first quarter, including a 7-0 to lead 17-10 after the first 10 minutes
- Wyoming trimmed the first-quarter advantage quickly in the second quarter, scoring the first eight points of the frame, which included back-to-back 3-pointers to put the Cowgirls up one at 18-17
- Both teams never led by more than six before the break, but CSU retook the lead going into halftime at 30-27
- McKenna Hofschild saw fewer than normal minutes in the first half after picking up her second foul with over seven minutes left in the half
- The Rams were shooting 44 percent (11-of-25) through the first two quarters, but struggled to find a rhythm from behind arc, hitting just 4-of-14
- The third quarter, which is CSU's strongest frame, had the Rams score a game-high 20 points while keeping the Cowgirls to just 16
