Late second half drought hurts Colorado State
LOGAN, Utah – Missed opportunities early and a tail of two halves late was the difference as Utah State defeated No. 13 Colorado State Saturday night 77-72.

The Rams clamped down on defense in the first half holding USU to 28.1% shooting but missed eight layups themselves to hold a 32-28 lead.

Colorado State led by as much as 10 midway through the first half. USU closed the half on a 7-2 run.

Isaiah Stevens led the way for CSU with 10 of his 21 points in the half.

The second half was a see-saw affair until CSU could not buy a basket for a 3-minute 30-second stretch leading to a 10-0 Aggies run.

Utah State shot 63.0% in the second half reversing their shooting woes from the first half.

Colorado State never gave in, pulling within five and 22 seconds on the clock, but it was too little too late.
