Rams Unable to Close Out Huskies

Late scoring drought hurts Colorado State against Washington
PALM DESERT, Calif. – Colorado State was unable to overcome a late scoring drought, falling to Washington 73-67 on Thanksgiving Day.
The Rams held a two-point lead at the break before shooting 40.0% in the second half compared to the Huskies' 57.7%.
Taking advantage of Washington's foul trouble the Rams went on a 6-0 run all at the line to go up two with 6:49 left, but would not score again until 1:46 on the clock allowing the Huskies to pull away.
Colorado State started the game withstanding an early 13-0 run from Washington. CSU responded with a 7-0 later on to take the lead with 11:55 left in the half and never trailed for the remainder it.
The Rams had a strong defensive effort in the final part of the half holding Washington to 4-of-21 shooting during the final 11:55.
The run included Nique Clifford missing the last 9:26 on the bench with two fouls and only two points. The fifth-year guard finished the night by scoring a team-high 13 points and a rebound shy of his third double-double of the year.
Jalen Lake and Kyan Evans also scored double figures with 12 and 11 points, each.
