Rams Deliver Strong Showing in Last Event Before Holiday Break

Bailey and Norman shine with first place finishes
COLORADO SPRINGS – After an impressive performance on Friday, Colorado State track and field capped the weekend off with another successful day at the Colorado Springs Pre-Holiday Invite and Multis. Â

In the women's high jump, junior Tatum Bailey finished first place with a mark of 5-9.25. Fellow Ram and debuting freshmen Annastasia Murphy finished third place in the same event, with sophomore Lizzy Heumann finishing just behind Murphy. Â

Makayla Long finished first place in the women's shot put with a distance of 51-8.75. The Baylor transfer was the lone Ram competing in the shot put today and showed out with her first first-place finish as a member of the Green and Gold.Â

Senior Cole Nordman continued his dominant start to the season with a first-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles at 7.74 seconds. Nordman was named Mountain West Men's Track Athlete of the Week last week for his performance at the Wyoming Power Meet. Â

The Rams added a clean sweep of the podium in the men's high jump, headlined by junior Timothy Johnson with a height of 6-10. Sophomore Rhys Travis and freshman Ndayiragije Shukurani rounded out the top three with second and third place finishes, respectively. Â

The Rams have nearly a month off for holiday break and will resume action on Friday, January 10th with a trip down the road to the Potts Invitational in Boulder. Â
