Rams Impress On Day One of CU Potts Invite

First competition of 2025 presents several career-bests.

BOULDER – It was a day full of career bests as Colorado State track and field kicked off 2025 at the CU Potts Invitational in Boulder on Friday.
 
Colorado State showed out in the weight throw as four Rams across the men's and women's teams hit career-best marks. Kyle Bigley won the event on the men's side with an impressive throw of 19.65-meters and was joined in the 19-meter mark by teammate Leonardo Ramos who threw 19.15m. Cameron Kalaf (17.71m) and Gigi German (17.16m) also recorded career-bests in the event, while Kajsa Borrman's toss of 18.11m took first in the event on the women's side.
 
Bigley was also victorious in the men's shot put as he threw 17.78 to finish tops in the event. On the women's side, it was another solid performance from Borrman who threw 13.87m on her way to a second-place finish, while Erin Brown finished right behind her in third with a mark of 17.16m.
 
Elsewhere in the field, Eldridge Harris and Justin Bate took home second and third-place finishes, respectively, which rounded out the day of competition for the Rams.
 
Colorado State is back at it tomorrow for day two of the CU Potts Invite. Action begins at 11 a.m. in Boulder.
