Tale of Two Halves Hurts Colorado State Tuesday Night

CSU unable to overcome second half woes against San Diego State
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – It was two completely different halves for Colorado State as they fell to San Diego State 71-55 Tuesday night.
The first half saw CSU start up 14-2, hitting their first four 3-pointers, three by Josiah Strong. The Rams led by double figures for most of the half. SDSU cut the lead to six twice, but never closer than that.
Colorado State shot 57.1% in the first 20 minutes including making 7-for-14 3s to lead by 14 at the break.
The second half was a complete different story as San Diego State outscored the Rams 41-11 holding CSU to 3-of-25 (12.0%) shooting.
Game Notes
- Four Rams finished the night in double figures led by Josiah Strong's 14. Patrick Cartier (12), Isaiah Stevens (11) and Nique Clifford (10) joined him.
- Carter shot 80.0% from the field going 4-for-5 and the same from the free throw line.
- Jaedon LeDee led the comeback for SDSU with 27 points, 22 of them in the second half.
What's Ahead
The Rams return home for a Saturday showdown with Mountain West leader Utah State at 3:30 pm. It is part of a doubleheader with women's basketball hosting Wyoming prior.
