Tip Off
Colorado State will return to Moby Arena on Saturday and host Wyoming at 12:30 PM for the second meeting of the season. The game will be part of a doubleheader with men's team playing Utah State at 3:30 PM.
 
Recapping Last Week
The Rams stayed on the road and were at UNLV on Wednesday night, suffering a 67-64 loss to the league leader. The Rams led the majority of the game, but a six-plus minute drought in the fourth quarter was the difference. Marta Leimane led CSU with her first career double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
 
What If...
A win on Saturday would move Colorado State to 16-9 overall and 7-7 in the Mountain West, while also improving to 11-2 in Moby Arena. The Rams would also snap a three-game losing streak to the Cowgirls and push their home winning streak to six games.
 
Border War Battles
Both programs will tell you that the Border War is an all out gritty, tough, competitive game every time. The numbers don't lie either. In 110 games, the scoring margin is one single point in favor of Colorado State - averages 64-63. There has been 27 games where the score is within five points, including the Border War 1.0 earlier this season.
 
Series History
Colorado State and Wyoming will meet for the 111th time in program history on Saturday. The Rams lead the series 56-54 an dare 30-21 while in Moby Arena. The series is one fo 16 longest active series in the nation and the longest in the Mountain West.
 
Dime Leader
With six assists against Wyoming, McKenna Hofschild became the Mountain West's all-time assist leader. She needed four assists entering the Border War and reached that mark in the third quarter with an assist on a Sydney Mech 3-pointer. Hofschild put her name at the top of the all-time assist list at Colorado State earlier this season against South Dakota Mines.
 
Elite Company
As one of the top point guards in the country, McKenna Hofschild is around some good company. In the nation, she is one of two players to average 20 points and seven assists so far this season, joining Caitlin Clark from Iowa.
 
Conference Baller
Since the start of conference play, there are only two players in the country that are averaging 25 ppg, 6 apg and shooting 45 percent from the floor. McKenna Hofschild and Caitlin Clark.
 
Third-Quarter Explosion
Colorado State has been effective coming out of halftime, averaging 4.9 more points than its opponents in the third quarter. The frame is the largest point differential with the highest being 17 against Alabama A&M on Nov. 9. The Rams have been outscored only five times in the third quarter this season.
 
Dish It
McKenna Hofschild is No. 3 in the country with 7.3 assists per game, while also No. 2 in total dimes with 175.
 
Protect The Rock
The Rams don't turn the ball over, which is why they lead the nation in fewest turnovers per game with 9.2. CSU has forked the ball over just 220 times, the fewest in the country. The next team in TO/game averages 10.4 (Villanova).
 
Record Scorer
Hofschild continues to move closer to the Mountain West's all-time scorer, sitting at 2,045 points, she is No. 3 in the conference records and No. 2 at CSU behind Becky Hammon.
 
Active Leaders
Hofschild is No. 3 among active DI players with 758 assists, behind Caitlin Clark (Iowa) and Lauren Park-Lane (Mississippi State). She also broke into the top active scorers at No. 13 (min. 16 ppg) with 2,083 career points.
 
Hand In The Face
Colorado State made defense a priority this season and that is why it has the No. 39 defense in the country keeping opponents to a 37.2 mark shooting.
 
Ratio'd
Colorado State takes care of the ball, while also creating assists. The Rams are No. 4 in the nation in assist/turnover ratio with a 1.57 mark. McKenna Hofschild is No. 12 in the country with a 2.78 mark, having 63 turnovers to 175 assists in 24 games. Last season she finished the year at No. 2 in the nation with a 3.42 ratio.

Colorado State will visit California a total of five times this season, playing in all the major areas. The Rams have visited San Francisco, Long Beach, San Diego and Fresno already this season. CSU will finish the regular season in San Jose.
