Rams Wrap up Day One of Jack Christiansen Invitational

Colorado State distance crew takes Stanford Invitational
FORT COLLINS – The Colorado State track and field team split up for the second weekend of the outdoor season with most Rams staying home to compete in the Rams' first home meet of the season in the Jack Christiansen Invitational while the Colorado State distance group traveled to the Stanford Invitational.

The only event to take place for the Rams at the Jack Christiansen Invitational was the men's and women's hammer throw with three Rams claiming a top three finish.

Redshirt Freshman Kajsa Bormann finished second in the women's hammer throw with a career best mark of 62.06 meters, good for the eighth best throw in CSU history. She was followed closely by teammate Mya Lesnar who finished third with a mark of 60.72 meters.

In the men's hammer throw, senior Mariano Kis finished third with a mark of 54.73 meters.

The Rams will take on a larger schedule in day two of the Jack Christiansen Invitational starting at 10 a.m. with the women's shot put.
At the Stanford Invitational, two Rams newcomers solidified their outdoor debuts in the Colorado State record book. Yasmin Austridge placed tenth in the women's 3K steeplechase's first section with a time of 10:20.97, good for ninth all time in CSU history.

Grad-transfer Sam Griffith jumped up to 18th all time in the CSU record book with a time of 9:08.21 in the men's 3K steeplechase. He finished 14th in the second section of the event.
Senior Lars Mitchell also jumped into the all-time top 20 in the men's 10K with a time of 28:54.58, finishing 15th in the second section of the event.
