Richterova picks up lone point in singles
STOCKTON, Calif. – The road hasn't been welcoming this season, giving Colorado State's women's tennis team more reason to be excited about coming back home.
Â
Picking up a nonconference dual to make up for two lost, the Rams dropped a 4-1 decision to Pacific on Saturday, falling to 1-6 on the road this season. The Rams are now 7-8 on the season.
Â
The Rams' lone point came from Sarka Richterova at No. 5 singles via her 7-6 (2), 6-3 win over Milena Maiorova. Radka Buzkova (No. 2) and Luana Avelar (No. 3) were in the third set of their matches when the match was clinched.
Â
After taking the doubles points, Pacific picked up a trio of wins in singles to clinch, two by straight sets, the third a three-set decision at No. 4 when Indiya McLeon rallied for a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 win over Sarah Weekley.
Â
Colorado State returns for a pair of home conference matches this coming weekend, hosting San Jose State on Friday and Fresno State on Sunday. Both matches will begin at 11 a.m. if played at the CSU Tennis Complex. The Rams are 6-2 at home, 3-2 in Mountain West play.
