Rams Compete in Golden Amid Cold Weather

Colorado State finishes successful meet, competing in 40-degree weather
GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado State track and field team competed in the Kit Mayer Classic in Golden, Colorado this Friday and obtained 23 podium placements despite the cold.

To kick off the day, Anna Petr finished first in the women's 1500-meter run with a time of 4:30.05. In the women's 100-meter hurdles with -2.5 wind, Neya Jamison took first with 14.56 seconds. Jamison finished in the first position in the 400-meter hurdles with 1:00.86.

Sierra Haberman achieved a height of 1.67 meters and a first-place spot in the women's high jump. This mark ties her career best, which she achieved in the indoor season. Haberman was followed by Lizzy Heumann in second with a height of 1.62 meters.Â

Cierra Gonzalez achieved a personal best in the long jump with a distance of 5.58 meters and wind of +2.0.

Cole Nordman led the men in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.41 seconds. Nordman was followed by Carsen Bruns in second (14.85), Jack Wetterling in fourth (15.18), Dominic Gallelli in seventh (15.31) and Quentin Rivera in eighth (15.39).Â

Wetterling also finished first in the 400-meter hurdles where he ran a time of 52.76 seconds. Bruns followed him in second place (52.78), Gallelli in third (52.91) and Drew Thompson in eighth (56.22).

Other first place finishers include Rondisia Williams in the women's 100-meter dash where she ran a time of 12.04 seconds. Jamison Taylor achieved a distance of the men's triple jump with 14.06 meters. Mariano Kis was the only thrower of the day for Colorado State and he finished with a mark of 52.75 meters in the discus throw.
